Fluorosilicone oil coating technology and its application fields are as follows (classified by main scenarios):
1. Marine antifouling and self-cleaning fields
Low surface energy antifouling coating
Fluorosilicone oil is modified by introducing trifluoropropyl to form a super-hydrophobic surface (water contact angle of more than 110°), which effectively inhibits the adhesion of marine organisms. Its silicone main chain provides flexibility, and the fluorine group enhances the mechanical strength, achieving fouling desorption under wave scouring.
Application example: In the actual sea test of Zhoushan Port, the modified fluorosilicone coating maintained stable antifouling performance within 3 months, without the need to release biocides, reducing marine ecological pressure.
Self-lubricating antifouling coating
Methyl fluorosilicone oil is added to construct a bionic exudate layer, so that a dynamic lubricating film is formed on the coating surface, which significantly reduces the adhesion strength of proteins, bacteria and diatoms. After 7 days of water scouring, it still maintains more than 90% antifouling stability.
II. Medical devices and biocompatible coatings
Anti-thrombotic coatings
Combined with ultrasonic spraying technology, fluorinated silicone polymers (such as PTFE composite coatings) are coated on the surface of cardiovascular stents and catheters to inhibit platelet aggregation and reduce the risk of postoperative thrombosis.
Process advantages: Material utilization rate reaches 95%, no solvent volatilization, and meets medical cleanliness standards.
Protective layer for implanted devices
Metal implants such as artificial joints and orthopedic screws use fluorinated silicone coatings to reduce metal ion release and improve long-term biosafety.
III. Industrial corrosion protection and building protection
Heavy-duty anti-corrosion coatings
Fluorinated silicone water-based coatings are resistant to acid, alkali, salt spray and high temperature (long-term temperature resistance of 200°C) through the high bond energy structure of Si-O-Si bonds and C-F bonds. Two-component fluorinated silicone modified resins are suitable for harsh environments such as petrochemical pipelines and offshore platforms.
Performance parameters: Salt spray resistance > 3000 hours, adhesion reaches ISO Class 1 standard.
Building exterior wall protection
Fluorosilicone water-based paint has a self-cleaning function: the surface tension is as low as 20-24mN/m, making it difficult for adhesive advertisements to adhere, and spray-painted advertisements can be removed with a wet cloth. Suitable for high-end building exterior walls, with a weather resistance of more than 15 years.
IV. Protection and lubrication of electronic devices
Sealing and insulation coatings
Methyl fluorosilicone oil is used as an electronic packaging material to provide moisture-proof and insulation protection (dielectric strength>20kV/mm), suitable for sealing high-power equipment to prevent electrical breakdown.
Vinyl fluorosilicone oil is used to prepare potting glue to protect sensors and integrated circuits from chemical corrosion.
Precision lubrication coating
Nano-lubricating film is formed on the surface of micromechanical bearings and high-speed components of laser printers, with a friction coefficient as low as 0.03, and it can withstand a high speed of 1.4 million revolutions per minute and a high temperature of 250°C.
V. Textile and special material processing
Multifunctional finishing of fabrics
Fluorosilicone oil gives fabrics lasting waterproof, oil-repellent and anti-fouling properties, and is used in high-end outdoor clothing and medical protective fabrics.
Demolding and defoaming applications
As a solvent-resistant mold release agent , it is suitable for complex molds; as a defoaming agent in resin synthesis, its chemical corrosion resistance is better than that of conventional silicone.
