Recently, the Shanghai market supervision bureau has carried out supervision and spot check on the quality of metal lunch boxes and food baking products (silicone material) produced and sold in this city. A total of 45 batches of products were inspected, and 18 batches were found to be unqualified.
According to relevant standards, the following items were inspected in this supervision and spot check: sensory requirements, arsenic (as) migration, cadmium (CD) migration, lead (PB) migration, total migration, potassium permanganate consumption, heavy metal (calculated by Pb) and label identification.
According to the spot check, 18 batches of products do not meet the usability index, and the unqualified items are: label identification. In 8 batches of non-conforming metal lunch boxes, "production date not marked" exists, 5 batches of non-conforming products "mark invalid standard", 4 batches of non-conforming products "do not mark material composition". Among the 10 batches of non-conforming food baking products (silica gel material), 7 batches of non-conforming products are "not marked with production date", 2 batches of non-conforming products are "marked with invalid standard", and 1 batch of products are "without Chinese label".
According to the requirements of the standard, the product shall indicate the name, material, declaration of conformity to relevant laws and standards, name, address and contact information of the manufacturer and / or distributor, production date and warranty period (when applicable), etc.; the metal base material shall clearly indicate its material type and material composition, or be indicated by China's standard brand or unified number code.
The unqualified products found in the spot check will be handed over to the local market supervision department for handling according to law.

Choose a reliable brand. In the detection process, a very small number of metal lunch boxes will be detected as, CD and Pb, which are three kinds of serious toxic and harmful elements. The materials used in these metal lunch boxes may come from recycled steel. Therefore, we should also choose reliable brands, not buy local goods, cheap goods and unlicensed goods.
Check the product inspection report. The consumer may request the seller to provide the inspection report that the product conforms to the national compulsory requirement, otherwise, the quality of the product lacks the basis.
Check the government inspection and sampling notice. We can pay attention to the quality and safety information of Shanghai market supervision and Administration Bureau, and have supervision and spot check information every year, and try to select products produced by qualified enterprises.
Products for food baking (silicone material)
Look at the packaging. Products clearly marked with manufacturer's name, address and executive standard shall be selected.
Look at the logo. If you need to use it at high temperature, you should choose the product with the mark of "use at high temperature" or "use in microwave oven".
Look at the appearance. Product surface should be flat and smooth, do not buy rough, color and lustre of different products.
Smell. Try to choose products with little or no odor.
