Basic characteristics of phenyl vinyl silicone rubber
Phenyl vinyl silicone rubber is a high-performance special rubber with the general chemical formula (Ph₂SiO)ₐ(ViMe₂SiO₀.₅)ᵦ(Me₃SiO₀.₅)ᶜ(SiO₂)ᵈ. This material possesses the following significant characteristics:
Excellent temperature resistance: Maintains elasticity over an extremely wide operating temperature range, from -73℃ to 350℃, can operate continuously at 180℃, and has instantaneous temperature resistance exceeding 300℃.
Good aging resistance: Outstanding resistance to ozone aging, oxygen aging, light aging, and weathering; performance remains largely unchanged after several years of outdoor exposure.
Excellent electrical insulation properties: Electrical properties change minimally with moisture, frequency variations, or temperature increases; excellent corona and arc resistance.
Special surface properties: Low surface energy, low hygroscopicity (water absorption rate of only 1% after long-term immersion), and good mildew resistance.
Physiological inertness: Odorless and non-toxic, with minimal reaction to body tissues, exhibiting excellent physiological inertness. Common oil media in oilfield gas production equipment:
Gaseous media:
Associated gas (mainly composed of methane, ethane, propane, etc.)
Compressed air (may contain lubricating agents) Oil mist)
Liquid media:
Mineral oil-based compressor oils (e.g., L-DAA, L-DAB, L-DAC, etc.)
Synthetic compressor oils (e.g., DGA, DGB, KGC, etc.)
Crude oil and condensate (containing various hydrocarbon compounds)
Other media:
Water (may contain dissolved salts)
Chemical additives (e.g., corrosion inhibitors, demulsifiers, etc.)

Compatibility with gaseous media
Pheny vinyl silicone rubber exhibits good compatibility with common oilfield gaseous media:
Methane: Pheny vinyl silicone rubber exhibits excellent durability and stability at high temperatures and has good resistance to hydrocarbon gases such as methane.
Ethane/Propane: By introducing phenyl groups, the material can maintain good elasticity and flexibility at low temperatures and has good compatibility with gaseous media such as ethane and propane.
Compatibility with liquid media
Pheny vinyl silicone rubber exhibits different oil resistance properties to different oil media:
