Applications of Ethyl Silicone Oil in Plastic Mold Release

Hits: 245 img

In the plastics processing field, ethyl silicone oil also performs excellently:

* **Difficult-to-Mold Plastics:** For difficult-to-mold plastics such as phenolic, epoxy, polyester, and high-pressure polyethylene, ethyl silicone oil effectively solves the problem of difficult demolding.

* **Film Production:** In the production of plastic films and sheets, ethyl silicone oil emulsions prevent film adhesion, ensure smooth winding, easy peeling, and prevent deformation and cracking.

* **Injection Molding:** In the field of plastic injection molding, ethyl silicone oil mold release agents can greatly improve production efficiency and reduce scrap rates.

**Mold Release Agent Types:** Advantages Disadvantages Ethyl Silicone Oil Advantages
* **Parasal-based:** Low cost, poor temperature resistance, unstable demolding effect, better temperature resistance (-60~150℃)
* **Fluoro-based:** Best isolation performance, high cost, higher cost-effectiveness
* **Wax-based:** Easy to use, poor chemical stability, excellent chemical stability
* **Silicone Oil-based:** Good overall performance, some silicone oils are relatively expensive. Ethyl silicone oil offers superior performance.

Application Method and Precautions
Application Method
Surface Treatment: Clean the mold surface before use to remove rust, dust, and residue.
Coating Method: Apply directly to the mold surface with a brush or by hand. Liquids can be applied using a sprayer or brush, with spraying being preferred.
Coating Times: For new molds, it is recommended to apply two coats, allowing the first coat to dry completely before applying the second.

Precautions
Storage Conditions: Store in a cool, dry environment, with the temperature controlled between 5℃ and 30℃. Avoid... Direct sunlight exposure.

Dilution method: Add water first, then add the release agent. Stirring speed should not be too fast (ideally no more than 20 revolutions per minute).

Water quality requirements: The water used to dilute the release agent should be purified water or soft water with low mineral content.

Spraying specifications: Maintain a spraying distance of 100-200mm to ensure the release agent evenly covers the mold surface.

Summary: Ethyl silicone oil exhibits high performance in rubber and plastic release agents due to its low surface tension, wide temperature range, chemical stability, and environmental friendliness. Compared to traditional release agents, it provides a more uniform and durable release effect, making it particularly suitable for processing complex shapes and difficult-to-release materials. Proper use and storage conditions can further enhance its performance advantages, improving production efficiency and product quality.
