Fluorosilicone oil plays an important role in many key areas of the electronics industry due to its unique characteristics such as high and low temperature resistance, chemical corrosion resistance, electrical insulation and low surface tension. The specific applications are as follows:
1. Electronic component packaging and protection
Sealants and potting compounds
Vinyl fluorosilicone oil is used to prepare high-performance potting compounds to protect sensitive components such as integrated circuits and sensors from moisture, dust and chemical corrosion, and improve equipment stability and reliability34.
After curing, it has low internal stress, reduces mechanical damage to components, and extends service life4.
Extreme environment protection
Hydroxy fluorosilicone oil has a wide temperature resistance range (-60℃ to 250℃), suitable for high-power equipment (such as IGBT modules), semiconductor packaging and precision instruments and meters, and maintains stable performance in high temperature and chemical corrosion environments.
2. Thermal management
Thermal conductive medium
Methyl fluorosilicone oil is used as a base material for thermal conductive paste to help electronic components dissipate heat efficiently (such as adding alumina fillers) and improve equipment operating efficiency.
Hydroxy fluorosilicone oil is made into thermal conductive potting compounds, which are suitable for the heat dissipation needs of high-power electronic equipment.
3. Surface treatment and protection
Release agent
Vinyl fluorosilicone oil is used to produce release agent to prevent electronic components from sticking to the mold during molding, ensuring surface accuracy and dimensional stability.
Moisture-proof and anti-corrosion coating
The hydrophobicity and chemical resistance of methyl fluorosilicone oil and hydroxy fluorosilicone oil can provide moisture-proof and anti-corrosion protective layers for electronic components, especially in humid or chemically exposed environments.
4. Other key applications
Lubrication and shock absorption of precision parts
Methyl fluorosilicone oil is used as high-speed bearing lubricant and shock absorber oil for printers and precision machinery. Its temperature resistance (-50℃ to 200℃) and chemical stability ensure long-term operation of the equipment.
Enhanced material adhesion
Fluorosilane coupling agents enhance the bonding strength between coatings and substrates in electronic devices and extend weather resistance (such as automotive electronic components).
Vacuum system lubrication
As a vacuum pump lubricant, fluorosilicone oil is suitable for electronic manufacturing equipment in chemical reaction gas environments.
