Theory + software operation let you do research directly: spatial measurement and GIS software operation in social science research

According to Professor Chen Yunsong (2017) of Nanjing University, "time and space are important dimensions to define social situations".
Professor Lin Hui (2006) of the Chinese University of Hong Kong pointed out that "time and space are the basic dimensions to define the development of human society and human civilization".
Professor Qin Kun of Wuhan University (2016) believes that "the problem of time and space is the core of social theory".
China's quantitative social science research has always paid more attention to the time dimension, but has not paid enough attention to the space dimension. As Professor Sun Xiulin (2015) of Shanghai University said, "in the domestic social science research, the spatial quantitative analysis has always been missing.". However, the importance of spatial quantification is self-evident. Professor Chen Yunsong (2017) pointed out that spatial correlation generally exists in social science research topics, and spatial correlation has always been an important missing variable, which can directly cause biased estimation of regression model, leading to "unreliable biased conclusion". In the view of Professor Chen Yunsong, spatial analysis has been lacking in social science research in China, which is mainly due to the limitations of data and analysis technology.
With the advent of social computing, big data and cloud computing, social science research has ushered in an important opportunity of "spatial turn", and spatial big data analysis is becoming an important component of computing social science. A large number of studies have proved that, based on multi-source spatial big data, the use of GIS, spatial measurement and other methods can help to clarify the space-time situation of social phenomena, find the space-time distribution and evolution law of social phenomena, and solve the complex self adaptability of social systems.
In order to further improve the methods and skills of qualitative researchers, Mr. He Li, lecturer of Xi'an Jiaotong University, was specially invited to hold a series of live broadcast of "spatial measurement and GIS software operation in social science research".
This live broadcast focuses on the following aspects: spatial transformation of social science research, point spatial data analysis, regional spatial data analysis, regional spatial data modeling, GIS and spatial measurement.
I hope to discuss and operate with you systematically.
Course introduction
Based on the "spatial dimension" of social science research, this course focuses on spatial big data, geographic information system (GIS), map visualization, spatial analysis and spatial statistics through case introduction, method description, software display, data analysis and operation demonstration, so as to improve the understanding of the theory and method of GIS and spatial measurement for the majority of social science researchers Before the development of this field, I was familiar with the processing method, analysis process and result interpretation of social science spatial data based on GIS and spatial measurement, several commonly used commercial and open-source GIS spatial analysis software, and the technical methods of spatial data map visualization, exploratory spatial analysis and spatial modeling using GIS software.
