[France] Pierre Nola, field of memory: cultural and social history of French national consciousness, trans. Huang Yanhong, et al., Nanjing University Press, 2015, 2017 (Reprint), 2020 (Hardcover).
Pierre Nora (1931 -), a famous French historian and academic editor, is the author of the French in Algeria, the present, the people, memory, French Studies, etc., and the editor in chief of three seven volumes of the field of memory. In 1993, the field of memory won the highest national academic award in France. In the same year, the entry of Les lieux de m é moire was included in Robel French dictionary. In 2001, Nora was elected a member of the French Academy of Sciences with only 40 fixed members.
Les lieux de m é moire is one of the most influential historical works in contemporary French historiography. It summarizes the research results of French collective memory history. Based on the concept of "Les lieux de m é moire" put forward by Nora, the book explores the remaining national memory through the study of memory place, in order to find the identity and belonging of French groups, nationalities and countries. Since its publication, the book has been translated into many languages with strong repercussions, and the concept of "lieu de m é moire" has also become popular rapidly, and it was included in "the great Robert dictionary" in 1993. The Chinese version carefully selects 11 documents from nearly 5000 pages of the three volumes of the original book, which are organized into three themes: "memory and history", "memory and symbol", "memory and narrative".

[de] aleda asman: history in memory: from personal experience to public presentation, translated by yuan Siqiao, Nanjing University Press, 2017.
Aleida Assmann is a professor emeritus in the Department of British and American literature of Konstanz University in Germany, and a visiting professor in Princeton University, Yale University, University of Chicago and other universities. He has written a lot in the field of English literature and memory. In recent years, he mainly engaged in the study of memory after World War II in Germany, the intergenerational relationship between literature and society, and memory theory. Together with Jan Assmann, Bei is regarded as the founder of the theory of "cultural memory".
The focus of this book is more on ethnography. In addition to the personal historical experience in generation, family and city image, there are also public historical debates in 2006 and 2007 and a wide range of commodities in the booming historical market. This book is one of "Xueheng history and memory translation", which mainly discusses German memory, emotion, attitude and understanding of their own national history, especially Nazi history. The title "history in memory" refers to the history that really exists in German memory and general understanding, that is, how Germans face history, how German history is talked about, interpreted and described by people Described. This book is not about historical knowledge, but about Germany's changing historical interests, different forms of historical tendencies, various experiences provided by history, and today's consumption of history. This book is more inclined to the interpretation of ethnography. In addition to the personal historical experience in the images of generations, families and cities in Germany, the research objects include the historical buildings as the memory carriers, as well as the various commodities (museums, media, etc.) that consume the historical memory at present (in 2006 and 2007 when writing).

[he] Barend J. ter Haar: rituals and myths of heaven and Earth Society: Creative identity, translated by Li Gongzhong, commercial press, 2018.
Barend ter Haar was born in 1958 in Holland. He is a famous Sinologist and currently teaches at Hamburg University in Germany. He is proficient in Chinese. His main research fields are Chinese folk religion and local religious and cultural history. His works include white lotus in Chinese history, telling stories: Witchcraft and scapegoating in Chinese history, E.J. Brill, 2006, etc.
This book is an outstanding work on the study of heaven and earth society, Chinese secret association and folk culture history in the international academic circle in the past 20 years. From the narrow perspective of "secret society" and the myth of organizational origin, the book mainly starts from the path of cultural anthropology and interprets the subculture of heaven and Earth Society under the background of Taoism culture and folk belief in South China. The author points out that "fuming" was not aimed at the political struggle discourse of the Qing Dynasty at first, but had a long history of religious culture and folk belief tradition; the origin myth and ritual symbols secretly circulated in the heaven and Earth Society were to create a kind of collective identity that did not exist in the strange marginal groups.
