Introducer
Qian Xuesen College of Nanjing University of science and technology is the second college in China, and the first honor college in Jiangsu Province named by Mr. Qian Xuesen, the "two bombs and one star" of our country. As the front position of Nanjing University of science and technology in training top-notch innovative talents and the experimental field to further promote the education and teaching reform, the training mode of innovative talents in the college has achieved good education and teaching results, and has trained a large number of high-quality and high-level research-oriented young talents.
This time, we set up the column of "style of alumni" and invited all the outstanding alumni to share their growth and development experience, so as to guide the students in the school to move forward and create brilliance together!
In 2016, there were 80 graduates from Qian Xuesen college, 85% of whom went to the first-class well-known universities at home and abroad to study for master's degree, and 33% of them chose to study for doctor's degree.
In the third phase, we invited three outstanding alumni to share their experiences: Xu Zhen, Ph.D. student of Nanjing University of technology and University of Waterloo in Canada, Shen Zihan, Ph.D. student of Nanjing University and sun Zhengping, Ph.D. student of National University of Singapore.

Borrow my tutor's words "find a direction to work hard", and go on firmly after making clear the direction. In terms of their own learning experience, I hope that the younger and younger students can clarify the direction and goal as soon as possible in the process of learning, and according to their own direction and goal, make their own learning plan, step by step to implement, cherish the learning time of the University.
Concentrate on learning
Many students in our college will go to graduate school, so we must pay attention to the study of basic courses. We can't delay the study of courses because we enter the laboratory in advance to do experiments. The basic courses will have a great influence on the future research. If the foundation is not stable, the building will collapse one day no matter how high it is built. Students must remember that only when they are down-to-earth can they look up to the stars.
The heart has faith
In the process of scientific research, you will meet many excellent partners. Sometimes when you watch other people's research progress, your mind will be affected more or less. So it's important to learn to adjust your mind. At this time, you should be able to calm down, reflect on whether you are not working hard enough or your learning methods need to be improved. You should learn to communicate with your tutor more. As long as the general direction is right and you are working hard, you will surely achieve something.
