Content introduction: film in film: a study of metafilm metafilm is essentially a film concept and a theoretical vision. The metamovie refers to the movie about the movie, including all the movies that take the movie as the content and are related to the movie in the movie. In the text, the movie that directly quotes, uses for reference, refers to other movie texts or reflects the production process of the movie itself is listed in the metamovie. The metafilm takes the film itself as the object, which indicates an inner referential, ontological, self-awareness and self reflection of the film world, including the examination of the film art's own form and composition rules.
About the author: Yang Yishu, born in Hai'an, Jiangsu Province, Ph.D. in film science, was an associate professor in the Department of drama, film and television in the school of Arts, Nanjing University, and now a professor in Shanghai Film Academy, Shanghai University.
