In 2007, Nanjing University Geoscience and Culture Festival was jointly founded by the school of Geosciences and engineering, the school of geography and marine science, the school of atmospheric science and the four schools of Geosciences of the school of environment, with the theme of World Earth Day on April 22 as the theme of the event. 2020 marks the 50th anniversary of world earth day and the 14th Geoscience and Culture Festival of Nanjing University. The Ministry of natural resources recently announced that the theme of this year's Earth Day is "cherish the harmonious coexistence of earth people and nature". This popular science lecture was jointly held by the school of Geoscience and engineering, the school of geography and marine science, the school of atmospheric science and the school of environment. The fourth Institute of Geosciences of Nanjing University has a long history and profound foundation.
