The editor of "top university" learned from the American Chemical Society that from February 2020, Wang Peng, an alumnus of Nanjing University and professor of Hong Kong University of science and technology, will join the top international journal Environmental Science & Technology (ES & T for short) in the field of environment and serve as the Deputy editor of the journal.
Curriculum vitae
Wang Peng is currently a professor in the Department of civil and environmental engineering, Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He graduated from the school of environment of Nanjing University with a bachelor's degree and a doctor's degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB). He joined the King Abdullah University of science and Technology (kaust) of Saudi Arabia as the first founder in 2009, and served as the dean of the Department of Environmental Science and engineering of the University from 2013 to 2017.
research field
Professor Wang Peng's research has been focusing on clean water production and wastewater reuse technology driven by clean energy, as well as new design of environmental protection and energy conservation. The main research directions of the research group include solar desalination, water collection in the air, zero discharge treatment and reuse of industrial wastewater, and design of nano materials for intelligent environment. In recent three years, he has published articles including nature sustainability, nature communications, Joule, ES & T, ACS Nano, etc., applied for 12 patents, edited and published three English Monographs (IWA, RSC and Wiley). The research work is widely concerned by peers. In 2019, he was invited to introduce the research progress on the BBC World News and BBC radio.
