There are many kinds and shapes of milk bottles on the market. At present, glass milk bottles and plastic milk bottles are widely used. In recent years, silica gel milk bottles and stainless steel milk bottles have appeared, but relatively few people use them.
1. Glass milk bottle: suitable for newborn
The advantages of glass milk bottle are good safety, good heat resistance, not easy to scratch, not easy to hide dirt, easy to clean, and the price is not expensive. It is suitable for newborns who need to take milk many times. The disadvantage of the glass milk bottle is that it is not strong enough and fragile, so it is suitable for the mother to take it to feed the baby at home.
2. Plastic milk bottle: suitable for babies over three months
The plastic bottle is light and can be used for babies after three months. Among the three materials of plastic milk bottle, PP milk bottle is the most common with good performance and is the first choice of plastic milk bottle. PES has many advantages like PP, and it is easier to clean and durable, close to the advantages of glass, but its price is more expensive.
How to not consider the price factor, only consider the safety and durability, then the new material PPSU is the safest, easier to wash and durable than PC, almost similar to glass. But PPS bottles are more expensive, and there are fewer brands to choose from.
3. Stainless steel milk bottle: for babies over 1 year old
Stainless steel milk bottle has long service life and low price. It can be used as a choice for babies over 1 year old. But because the stainless steel milk bottle is not transparent, we can't see how much milk is left in it.
4. Silicone milk bottle: suitable for babies of all ages
Silicone milk bottle is safe, light and suitable for babies of any age. Of course, because of the soft texture of the silicone bottle, the baby will feel more comfortable to use.
The shape of milk bottle and its suitable people
Bottles of different shapes are suitable for babies of different months:
1. Round bottle
It is suitable for babies aged 0-3 months. During this period, the baby's milk and water are mainly fed by the mother. The neck of the round bottle is smooth and the liquid in it flows smoothly. Breast fed babies should use small sizes when drinking water, and large sizes can be used to store breast milk. Other ways to feed the baby are to use large-scale feeding, so that the baby a full.
2. Arc and ring milk bottle
Babies over 4 months old have a strong desire to grasp things. The arc shaped bottle is like a small dumbbell, and the ring shaped bottle is a long round "O" shape, which is convenient for the baby's small hands to hold, so as to meet their own milk desire.
3. Small bottle with handle
Babies around one year old can eat with their own bottle, but they often can't hold it stably. This kind of bottle similar to practice cup is specially prepared for them. Two movable handles are convenient for babies to hold with their small hands, and the handles can be adjusted according to their posture. It's OK to sit and lie down.
Three steps to help consumers choose a bottle
Step 1: determine the material of plastic vs. glass
The bottle material on the market can be divided into glass and plastic. Among them, plastics include PES (polyethersulfone resin), PP (polypropylene), PPSU (polyphenylsulfone resin).
In addition to the strength of glass milk bottle is not enough, fragile, other qualities are better than plastic milk bottle. But the biggest advantage of plastic milk bottle is that it is light and not fragile. It can be taken by the baby himself and carried when going out. Therefore, the glass milk bottle is mainly suitable for small babies. Parents can use it when feeding at home. When the baby grows up and wants to take the bottle by himself, the plastic bottle will start to come into great use.
PP milk bottle is light, high strength, not easy to break, highly transparent and cost-effective. When choosing, parents can buy appropriate materials according to actual needs. Generally speaking, glass bottles are mainly used to feed newborn babies. Three months later, use more plastic bottles.
Step 2: determine the capacity
The milk bottle is divided into four capacities: 120ml, 160ml, 200ml and 240ml, which can be selected according to the baby's one-time food consumption. Generally speaking, the amount of breast-feeding for babies less than one month is about 100-120ml once. The amount of breast-feeding for a baby more than one month should be 120-200ml once and 800-1000ML a day. Some babies also drink less.
Therefore, 0-1 month babies need at least 120 ml milk bottles. Some mothers buy 240ml bottles directly for economic reasons. However, some mothers reported that if they started with large capacity milk bottles, they always felt that their babies ate less and unconsciously fed more. In addition, generally, the milk bottles need to be eliminated and renewed within 4-6 months. Therefore, the first choice of 120 ml bottles is more appropriate. However, the 60 ml bottle is small in size and easy to clean, so it is suitable for infants to drink a small amount of water many times.
Step 3: determine the purchase quantity
The number of bottles to buy depends on two points: the way the mother feeds and the way she uses them. Different feeding methods have different requirements for milk bottles.
★ breastfeeding: 1-2 250ml and 1-2 120ml
Mother is at home all day, only need to prepare 1-2 250 ml big bottles, 1-2 120 ml drinking water, juice small bottles. When the mother has something to go out, she can squeeze the breast milk into the milk bottle to ensure that the baby can eat the breast milk at any time when she is hungry.
Some mothers have to go back to work after taking maternity leave. Although I have to give my baby to others, I want my baby to drink as much breast milk as possible. Besides the milk bag for storing breast milk, I also need 3-4 250ml large bottles and 1-2 150ml small bottles for drinking water and juice for my baby.
★ mixed feeding: 4-6 250ml and 1-2 120ml
According to the number of tons of milk the baby drinks, calculate the number of bottles to buy.
★ artificial feeding: 4-6 240ml, 1-2 120ml
According to the calculation method of artificial feeding milk amount, the baby needs to be fed more than 6 times a day during 0~6 months. Babies less than one month breastfeed six to eight times a day, and babies 2 to 3 months a day six times, which can be reduced to five times later. It takes at least 3-4 hours for each bottle to clean, disinfect and dry.
If mother has enough time at home, she should prepare at least 4-6 240ml milk bottles and 1-2 small bottles. But as soon as each bottle is used up, mom needs to clean it immediately. If you want to be lazy or your parents are in a hurry, prepare 6-8 240ml bottles and 2-3 small bottles. Then you can wash all the used bottles together every day, which can save time and effort.
It's impossible to decide how many bottles to buy at a time. First, consider the changing "needs.". At the beginning of one month, the glass bottle is the main one, but when the baby takes the bottle by himself, the chance of using the glass bottle is greatly reduced. If I had bought a bunch of glass bottles, it would have been a waste.
Second, the elimination rate of milk bottles. Glass milk bottle has the longest service life. PC milk bottle needs to be replaced in 6 months. PES milk bottle can be used longer than PC milk bottle, and PP milk bottle has the shortest service life. So, basically after six months, we have to buy a new bottle.
Finally, the above figure includes 1-2 bottles for emergency use.
Material types, advantages and disadvantages of nipples
Latex: natural rubber, elastic, very soft, baby sucking up the taste closer to the mother's nipple. The disadvantage is that the edge of the nipple is soft, and it is easy to dislocate and leak when tightening. And it has the peculiar smell of rubber. Some babies may not like it.
Silica gel: synthetic rubber, harder than latex, but not easy to age, heat, corrosion, tasteless and odorless. Although there is no leakage problem, some babies may have a sense of rejection when sucking.
Shape classification, advantages and disadvantages of nipples
The shape of the nipple can be divided into two types: round and thumb. The thumb shaped, or oblate nipple, is designed according to the shape of the mother's nipple when the baby sucks. It is close to the breast head. Compared with the round nipple, the acceptance of the baby is higher.
Nipple hole: the sucking force and sucking method of the baby are different. The flow rate of the milk will be different for different shape nipple hole, which is suitable for different babies.
Round hole type: This is the most common type, round hole type nipple, milk will flow out automatically, baby sucking up effortless, suitable for small baby who can't control the amount of milk flowing out.
The pass size is generally divided into s, m and L. The small round hole is suitable for drinking water, the middle round hole is suitable for drinking milk, and the large round hole is more suitable for drinking rice paste and other auxiliary food.
Cruciform: the cruciform hole type can control the flow of milk according to the sucking force of the baby, which is not easy to leak milk. The larger hole type can be used to drink juice, rice flour or other coarse-grained drinks. Suitable for babies of all ages.
Y shape: the flow of milk is stable, which can avoid the concave of nipple. Even if the baby sucks hard, the suction hole will not crack. The pore type is large, which can be used when adding auxiliary food. Suitable for babies who are used to drinking milk in bottles for more than 2-3 months.
Sterilization method of nipple
A. Boiling disinfection
1. Prepare a stainless steel cooking pot filled with cold water. The depth of the water should be able to completely cover all the washed nursing appliances. (stainless steel pot shall be used for sterilizing milk bottle only, and shall not be mixed with other cooking food at home)
2. If it is a glass bottle, it can be put into the pot together with cold water. After the water is boiled for 5-10 minutes, it can be put into plastic products such as pacifiers and bottle caps. After the lid is closed, it can be boiled for 3-5 minutes, and then the fire is turned off. After the water is slightly cool, the pacifiers and bottle caps can be taken out with sterilized bottle clamps, and then they can be put back on the bottle for standby. If it's a plastic bottle, put the bottle, pacifier and bottle cover together into the pot for sterilization after the water is boiled. Cook for another 3-5 minutes. Finally, clamp all tableware with the sterilized bottle, place it in a clean and ventilated place and drain it.
3. It should be noted that the tableware made of plastic should not be boiled for long, so it is recommended to put it in after boiling for 3-5 minutes, otherwise it will easily deteriorate. You can also pay attention to the temperature resistance label on the milk bottle. If it is not high temperature resistant, it is better to use a steam pot for sterilization.
B. Steam pot disinfection
At present, there are many kinds of electric steam pots with various functions and brands on the market. Parents can choose according to their own needs. As long as the sterilization method is operated according to the instructions, it can achieve the purpose of disinfection of feeding equipment. However, it should be noted that before using the steam pot for disinfection, all the bottles, nipples, bottle caps and other items should be cleaned thoroughly, then put them together, press the switch, and when the disinfection is completed, the power will be cut off automatically.
After the baby's milk bottle is sterilized, the water left in the bottle should be completely poured out, and then it should be turned back and drained. With the sterilized bottle holder, the sterilized bottle, nipple, bottle cover, etc. should be placed in a ventilated and clean place for cool standby, and the gauze or cover should be covered. In addition, if the bottle is still not used after 24 hours of disinfection, it is necessary to carry out another disinfection work to avoid bacteria breeding. After each time the baby finishes drinking milk, the mother can first clean the bottle with the bottle brush, collect it and put it on the bottle rack to dry, and then carry out the disinfection work together when the accumulated amount or the size of the disinfection pot can hold. So the mother must prepare a lot of bottles at a time to meet the needs of the baby in a day.
C. Microwave disinfection
Put the cleaned bottle into the microwave oven and turn on the high fire for 10 minutes. Never put the nipple and connecting cover into the microwave oven to avoid deformation and damage.
Bottle feeding method
1. First of all, the mother talks with the baby in a soft voice, calms her mood, and helps the baby to tie the bib.
2. Then, carefully lift the baby from the crib and hold the baby's neck with your hands. with
