Campus advantage
Nanjing University is located in the ancient capital of Jinling, which has a long history and outstanding reputation. Its predecessor was Sanjiang normal school founded in 1902. In July 1952, Nanjing University adjusted its faculties and departments to establish Nanjing Institute of technology, Nanjing Agricultural College, Nanjing Normal University and other colleges and universities;
In 1966, the Cultural Revolution broke out and the teaching work was damaged. Undergraduate students stopped enrolling for 6 years and graduate students stopped enrolling for 12 years;
On November 26, 1981, with the approval of the State Council, the University became one of the first batch of doctoral and master's degree awarding units in China.
In 1993, Pukou campus of Nanjing University was put into use.
In 1994, Nanjing University was identified as the key university supported by the national "211 Project".
In 1999, Nanjing University became one of the first batch of high-level universities to be built under the national "985 Project".
In 2001, the first batch was approved to pilot the national demonstration software institute.
In September 2002, Nanjing University and China Meteorological Administration signed an agreement in Nanjing to carry out all-round cooperation.
In 2006, the Ministry of education and Jiangsu province again signed an agreement focusing on the co construction of Nanjing University.
In 2011, the Ministry of education and Jiangsu Province signed an agreement to continue to focus on the co construction of Nanjing University, which was named "typical experience university for graduate employment in China" by the Ministry of education.
In April 2013, the first batch of universities were selected as the leading universities of the national "2011 plan".
In September 2017, Nanjing University was selected as one of the national "double first-class" world-class universities. In December, the Art College of Nanjing University was established.
