More than 100 times of design model, the goggles are more suitable without fog
On February 26, Hunan Yunjian additive manufacturing technology research and Application Center, three types of more than 200 3D printing equipment "fully open fire", stepped up printing medical goggles.
The frame printed by stereolithography 3D printer is hollow structure, with a weight of only 70g.
"In addition to being light, sealing suction cup is the key to safety and comfort of goggles." Yang Kai, general manager of Hunan Yunjian additive manufacturing technology research and Application Center, introduced that the sealing suction cup is mainly made of TPU silica gel, which is soft and elastic. Even if it is worn for a long time, it can also achieve the fit with the face and maintain the sealing state.
Traditional process goggles are injection molded, which may be slightly deformed during wearing, unable to completely seal and easy to fog. Hunan Yunjian repeatedly communicated with the medical staff for debugging, and finally chose TPU silica gel with good airtightness as the suction cup. This material also has the advantage of anti-corrosion in disinfection.
The goggles have the same sense of technology. Yang Kai introduced that Hunan Yunjian cooperated with Hunan University in research and development. The high-definition lens adopts a special coating technology, which effectively solves the problem of fogging during the use of goggles.
"The goggles are composed of five parts, i.e. frame, lens, sealing cup, buckle and elastic belt. The technical team has modified the design scheme for more than 100 times and made more than 30 versions of samples." According to Yang Kai, the advantages of 3D printing technology have been brought into play. The products have the features of full sealing, non fogging, lightweight, wide viewing angle and high facial fit. They can also be customized.
153 hours to realize production conversion, with a daily output of 2000
Medical goggles are one of the necessary weapons of war. Traditional production is small and difficult to expand. As a national key military research and production enterprise directly under China Armament Corporation, Hunan Yunjian has mature 3D printing technology reserve.
On January 31, the company set up a project team to transfer medical goggles for military 3D printing technology, and completed the sample within one day. On February 7, the production of products was approved by the market supervision department. In less than 7 days after 153 hours, Hunan Yunjian completed the design and finalization of the product and transferred to the production of 3D printing goggles.
The reporter learned that 4250 sets of 3D printing medical goggles have been donated and transferred by the government to Wuhan, Changsha and other "epidemic" lines. On February 25, 200 sets of 3D printing related equipment purchased by the company in an emergency have been put into production, and a special production line for 3D printing medical goggles has been opened, with the daily output increased to 2000 pairs.
"3D printing has the advantage of rapid emergency production. In special periods, it can realize unmanned manufacturing and share data models. If the industry's 3000 network printing resources are jointly mobilized, the daily output can exceed 10000 copies." At present, there are nearly 100000 orders from Hubei Province, and more than 95% of the products produced in the early stage are donated to the medical staff at the front line of the war epidemic, Yang said.
