Looking back on the past, Islamic civilization and Western civilization have been developing in the process of integration and conflict. Since the "9.11" event in 2011, Islamic research has become a hot topic in the field of western sociology and international relations. Scholars and people all over the world have focused on the Muslim people who believe in Islam. Why are they always connected with all kinds of terrorist attacks? Why are they always connected with regional conflicts? These problems perplex the academic circles and politics, and also make the common people feel sad. Today, with the continuous influx of Muslim immigrants, Europe has become the forefront of the intersection and conflict of the two civilizations. There have been "Rushdie incident", French "headscarf act" incident, London subway bombings and other extreme incidents of conflict between European Muslims and European mainstream society, The integration of European Muslims and European mainstream society has once again attracted the world's attention. Based on the analysis and review of the communication between Muslims and European history, this paper focuses on the current social and economic situation, political and religious problems of European Muslims and their long-term impact, and tries to use the analytical framework and theoretical tools of sociology, politics and history dynamically through the comprehensive display of Muslims, a minority of European mainstream society, From the perspective of the competition for public space, this paper presents the competition for public space in Europe by using case analysis method, trying to put forward the "redistribution" approach of public space in Europe and the way of coexistence for the mainstream society and Muslims in Europe.
In terms of research methods, this paper reviews the history of Muslim immigrants to Europe through historical data research, presents the survival and development of Muslims in Europe through quantitative analysis and comparative research methods of chart data, and explores the conflicts between European mainstream society and European Muslims in competing for public space and the boundaries reached by the two communities through case analysis, It also analyzes the consequence of the competition for public space and the way of redistribution by using the theory of public space and constructivism. This paper includes three parts: introduction, text and conclusion. The introduction part mainly discusses the proposal and research value of the core issues of this paper; then it combs the research status at home and abroad, and the research results are divided into two parts: the results of scholars in non Islamic world and the self-examination of scholars in Islamic world, and summarizes the research situation of European Muslims in China; then it introduces the relevant theories of public space, This paper describes the research ideas and basic framework, and finally puts forward the innovation and shortcomings of this paper. The text is divided into three chapters. The first chapter, first of all, traces back to the historical evolution of Muslim migration to Europe. The Muslim migration from the end of the 19th century to the present has shown different characteristics in different stages, The coexistence of the two groups nurtured by the two civilizations in Europe has always been marked by the struggle for public space; then, the results and data of the published population survey are used to present the living conditions of the Muslims in Europe today, from the population distribution, the current situation of religious life to the interaction between the political and economic aspects of European Muslim and the mainstream society, It tries to show the living panorama of European Muslims under the condition of public space competition. The second chapter shows the competition between European mainstream society and European Muslims for public space in the form of case analysis, taking the competition for cultural interests, economic interests and political participation as the main line to explore the reasons behind the conflict. The reason for the conflict of "headscarf act" in the process of cultural interest competition is that the cultural identity of European Muslims and the mainstream society is difficult to integrate, the road of integration is difficult, and the two civilizations are not equal at the root. This part discusses the attitudes of the two civilizations towards other civilizations and shows the boundaries that Muslims can reach in the existing public space.
The third chapter, taking the redistribution of public space as the solution, gives the way of "redistribution" from the self-improvement of European Muslim survival strategy and the efforts and responses that European mainstream society should make to Muslims. Only Muslims adjust their self-awareness and try to adapt to European society as Europeans, At the same time, the mainstream European society should try to change its proud cultural attitude, try to actively integrate with Muslim immigrants, and provide more feasible convenience for the survival of immigrants, so that both sides can achieve mutual benefit and harmonious coexistence. The conclusion part draws the conclusion, reviews the writing of this paper and makes some forward-looking explanations for the future research in related fields. In the past, most scholars have studied from the perspective of cultural conflict. Few scholars have studied the different responses of Muslim immigrants under the guidance of the European Union's overall Immigration Act and policy, which should become an important research direction in the future. With the continuous improvement of China's economic status in the world, China has gradually become the target country for the influx of immigrants. The panorama of Muslim immigrants to Europe and the integration of European society should provide a strong reference for the formulation of China's immigration policy in the future. reduction
