Low temperature vulcanization silicone rubber vulcanization system

Hits: 704 img

Low temperature vulcanization silicone rubber, also known as liquid silicone rubber, is a polysiloxane elastomer material with vinyl end groups. The general vulcanization temperature is 40~120℃, that is, between thermal vulcanization and room temperature vulcanization. It can use polysiloxane with Si-H group as cross-linking agent, and conduct addition reaction in the presence of catalyst to complete cross-linking, also known as addition type silicone rubber.

Commonly used catalysts are organic platinum complexes. The newer varieties are complex compounds containing vinyl low molecular polysiloxanes. The amount of catalyst is very small.

In order to adjust the active period of the rubber compound and improve the storage stability, reaction inhibitors, generally acetylene compounds, and compounds containing amine, tin, phosphorus, etc., can be used.

The vulcanization system is highly reactive, and if not stored properly, the compound will also partially crosslink at room temperature. Therefore, in addition to the reaction inhibitor, the rubber compound must generally be made into a two-component form: one component contains a crosslinking agent, and the other component contains a catalyst, similar to the two-component room temperature vulcanized silicone rubber. When using, mix and prepare according to the prescribed metering. In this way, the storage period of the rubber compound is longer, which can reach more than 1 year at room temperature. The vulcanization rate of the addition type system has a great relationship with the temperature.

Addition silicone rubber can not only be vulcanized at low temperature, but also can be vulcanized at high temperature for a short time. Addition type silicone rubber generally does not require secondary vulcanization because no low molecular weight polycondensation by-products are produced during the vulcanization process. However, when it is necessary to reduce the compression deformation of the vulcanizate, two-stage vulcanization must be carried out.
